Mares are or should be the backbone of every breeding program. You can go buy the best stallion in the world but if you don't have good mares for him.........you have just wasted your money! The mares "build" the foal, teach it manners and way of moving.....well you get my drift. Good mares make the breeding program. I have raised and bought what I think is an excellent band of mares. Please see what you think.

LVR Apache Dice

--- PEDIGREE ---

This mare is the heart of my breeding program. She can and does work cattle all day at a hard pace and will beg to trot or canter home. You can not wear her out. She is as tough as nails and a smooth ride and enough spunk to make the ride interesting and the brains to keep you and her safe. She loves trail riding and while the rest are foaming and all worn out she is still fresh and going strong. In her younger days there was nothing that could out run her at any distance. I have two of her sons as stallions and am retaining one of them. (LVR BILT OF BRICK) the other two are for sale and would add much to any breeding program. She will never be for sale but her offspring are with the exception ot her fillies. If she presents me with a couple more then maybe I'll sell one but this mare and her line are crucial to my program and her blood will always be here.

Dkota's Blue Skye

--- PEDIGREE ---

This beautiful blue varnish roan mare is one of my favorites and will probably never be for sale. She stands around 15.1h and is a dream to work around. She consistantly produces top quality foals year after year who are loud, lovely to the eye and just plain nice to work with. I have two of her foals for sale at this time.

LVR Skye's Surprise

--- PEDIGREE ---

This absolutely beautiful young mare is part of my breeding program and is not for sale. She is a perfect example of the quality being produced by her dam. She stands around 16.h and is a true black based coat color. Some of her foals will be for sale in the future. She is an ICAA F-4 which is the equivalent of the Canadian F5 and the FAHR 5 Gen.

LVR Skye's Mirage

--- PEDIGREE ---

This young mare is another example of the quality being produced by her dam. She stands a good 16+h and is a sweet heart to work with. She has two foals on the ground and both are stunning. A black/blanket with spots colt last year and this year the colt in this picture. He is turning liver chestnut or very dark chestnut and is gorgeous and tall, just like his brother from last year. Both of her colts are stud quality and are going to be very tall and athletic and LOUD colored. This years foal is a snowcap as is his sire and will produce 100% color or characteristics.

WAR Nightshade

--- PEDIGREE ---

This big beauty isn't from my breeding program but descends from the same original stock as mine. She was bought to compliment my stallion lines. She is also my favorite trail ride horse when she isn't having babies. She has two sons and a daughter here. Both of her sons are for sale and are beautiful animals. Gotta love those spots!! The leopards are my favorites.

Bright Chookie

--- PEDIGREE ---

This pretty young mare was bought to complement my stallion power and to add a touch of the early "modern" breeding with a link to Bright Eyes Brother. She has a beautiful pedigree with many old foundation bred and preformance horses in it. She is a gentle child safe mare and her foal this year has the same loving attitude. All her foals will be for sale.

LVR Shady Lady

--- PEDIGREE ---

This bay mare is the product of two stunning leopards. She is out of WAR NIGHTSHADE and by WAR TOBY SUNDANCER. She will remain in my brood mare band untill she has given me a couple fillys and then she will be for sale. She will be a bargain at any price with the leopard lines she carries and I am sure she will be a fantastic producer of color when bred to the right stallion. She is very gentle and sweet and stands around 15.2. She is an addition to my mare band that I am really excited about.

LVR Silver Dice

--- PEDIGREE ---

This pretty black fewspot filly is carrying on the tradition of excellence here at Lake View Ranch. She is just a two yr old but I can't hardly wait the next couple of years to see her first foal.

Tobpatchy Kwila

--- PEDIGREE ---

This pretty chestnut mare is the newest addition to my herd. She is as clean a Toby bred horse as you are going to find and it is all real close up in her pedigree. She has been competing in roping and team penning and has not been bested too many times. She consistently pens at least 15 seconds ahead of her competition. She is born to work cattle and takes no back talk from a bovine. It goes where she wants it.......and NOW. She is now being introduced to barrel racing for my granddaughters but they may have a hard time talking grandma out of her cow horse. Some time in the near future she will be bred and hopefully raise a daughter or two.

Her sire and dam are both black but apparently carry a recessive red.
